MSD of Wabash County Board of School Trustees met to Conduct Business Tuesday Night

Student and staff recognitions:

Metro North Elementary teacher Stacey Meredith was Spotlighted by parent, Amanda Galley.  Her son Jackson is in Mrs. Meredith Preschool class. Mrs. Galley wrote that Mrs. Meredith went above and beyond with a small injury my son had in her pre-K class, as far as even contacting us over the weekend to make sure he was okay because she was worried about him. I feel that we need more teachers like her! She is truly amazing!

Northfield would like to recognize and congratulate Mr. Brandon Baker for being inducted into Manchester University’s Athletic Hall of Fame for football and baseball.  Northfield also wants to recognize and congratulate Coach Clint Davis as he was voted District Coach of the Year for baseball.

Metro North Elementary wants to congratulation Mrs. Katy Gray and our Metro North students that were selected to represent Metro North in the Honeywell Winter Banner Competition: Charlotte Harrington, Calvin Thompson, Diem Rosemeyer, Braelyn Blackburn, Cheyenne Wells, Ethan Krom, Electra Merrell, Rhianna Billups, Emily Miller, Logan Holmes, Makaela Shoue, and Ava Wilson.

Superintendent report:

The first grading period ended last Friday, October 5 and Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 11.  This is also an eLearning Day.

Curriculum report:

Financials: General Fund balance for September is over 2.8 million dollars.

New Business:

The School Board approved the substitute teacher rate at $70.00

The School Board also approved the recommendation for the Extra Curricular Accounts amendments to 2017-2019 Teacher Contract. The teachers ratified on Monday evening.

Finally, they approved the school fundraising events for 2018-2019.
