Morrell’s Scooters returning to Wabash in April

Wabash County, IN (DATE) – Grow Wabash County is excited to welcome back Morrell’s
Scooters to downtown Wabash starting on April 1, following the unanimous approval of a new
ordinance regarding scooters by the Wabash City Council on Monday, March 22.
“Wabash has such a beautiful downtown and is definitely a tourist destination,” Ronald
Morrell, owner and operator of Morrell’s Scooters, said. “It is a gem for small town Indiana
and I am thrilled to be bringing another service to the city to help further the greatness that is
already happening.”
Starting on April 1, there will be 15 scooters available to rent. Riders can find these scooters
parked at the Wabash County Museum and The Honeywell Center and can be unlocked for
use through the GOAT Scooters app that can be downloaded in the Apple or Google Play Store
on your device. After making an account, a map will highlight where all the scooters are
located in your area. Once the scooters have been unlocked and activated, riders are ready to
roll.
Riders are expected to follow all rules of the road when using the scooters including sharing
the road. Scooters will not be permitted on city sidewalks nor on major highways and
interstates. In order to operate the scooters, the user must be at least 16 years of age.
The scooters first made their appearance downtown last fall, when Grow Wabash County
helped connect Morrell to local businesses and leader to launch a test run of the scooters.
Almost immediately, the scooters became a popular form of transportation around downtown
Wabash and the nearby parks and trails.
Grow Wabash County looks forward to the value these scooters will add to the downtown
Wabash experience as we enter the warmer, busier months of the year.
