At approximately 3:16 A.M., Officers with the Huntington Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Grayston Avenue. Officers arrived and spoke with an adult male and an adult female. After investigating the call, Officers arranged for the adult female and children to leave the residence. There were no criminal charges being connected to this disturbance.
At approximately 8:14 A.M., Officers were informed that the male subject from the earlier domestic disturbance was threatening to commit suicide and was armed with a handgun. The male subject was believed to have barricaded himself inside the residence. Huntington Police contacted the Allen County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team for their assistance with the matter.
At approximately 11:08 A.M., the male subject was located and peacefully surrendered to police. He was then transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Huntington County Sheriff’s Department and Parkview EMS assisted the Huntington Police Department.
