Miami County Health Dept. gives trick-or-treating safety recommendations

This from Dr. Christi Redmon, Miami County Health Officer: MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The following recommendations pertain to trick or treating this Saturday, 10/31/2020:

The Miami County Health Department feels that door-to-door trick or treating is not appropriate for a county that has medium to high spread of the Covid-19 virus, which we are designated at present.

Individually wrapped treats should be offered at the sidewalk or driveway on a table for trick or treaters to have available that night. Masks should be required in case there are groups that are not able to socially distance. A costume mask is not a substitute for a cloth facial mask as referenced by the CDC for Halloween. Those measures can lower this event to a medium risk exposure.
