PERU, IN- Head Start is enrolling students for the 2022-2023 school year.
Elmwood Elementary School provides a full-day preschool program for eligible 3- and 4-year-old children. All Head Start preschool teachers are certified and provide kindergarten readiness preparation based on a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Educational objectives focus on age appropriate academic and physical skill development, as well as health, nutrition, social/emotional support, and medical needs. This program includes transportation and school day meals.
The Miami County Head Start is housed at Elmwood Elementary School and is an Indiana State licensed Early Childhood Center, and has earned Level 4 (highest rating) in Indiana Paths to Quality.
