Meth Lab Discovered in North Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – On Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7:24 pm the North Manchester Police Department received a complaint of a chemical smell in the 300 block of S. River Road. Officers Derek Sessoms and Parker Stouffer responded to the call. Officers discovered the smell coming from the basement area of the residence. As officers tried to make entry Steven A Morgan Jr. 29 North Manchester and a female emerged from the basement. Officer Derek Sessoms made entry into the basement and discovered a meth lab, methamphetamine and numerous precursors for manufacturing methamphetamine. Morgan was charged with possess of a hypodermic needle, dumping of controlled substance waste, possession of drug precursors within 500 feet of a school and manufacturing methamphetamine with 500 feet of a school. Charges are being submitted to the Wabash County Prosecutor on two other subjects for possible arrest.
North Manchester Police were assisted by North Manchester Fire Department, Wabash County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Every defendant is innocent until proven guilty.
