WABASH,Indiana – Metal Source, LLC, has expanded their business to include a new tough as nails retail establishment right down the road located at 1705 South Wabash Street on top of the cut. Wabash Steel Supply officially opened just Monday to meet the needs of those looking for steel sheets, tubing, pipes, plates, rebar and barrels. The business also sells aluminum diamond plate and large tire rims perfect for a fire pit. The idea came to open a retail store after Metal Source employees were frequently asked if they had various steel items for sale.
Wabash Steel Supply sits right next to B&K Root Beer and employs of General Manager Cody Larimore and Southwood High School Senior Seth Zahalka, who is working at the location through a program at Heartland Career Center. The 30 by 60 foot barn on the property, formerly 4Z’s RV, has been remodeled to house the business’s flat, angle, chain, round and square steel rods, as well as square and rectangular tubing and schedule 40 pipe. Rebar sits to the side of the building and various thickness of steel plates sit around back. Larimore told MiBash News that if Wabash Steel Supply doesn’t have an item in stock, they can order it for customers.
What separates Wabash Steel Supply from other local retailers is that their pipe and tubing comes in 12 or 10 foot “sticks” as they’re known in the trade. Actually, much of their steel pipe comes in 24-foot lengths so they must be cut in two just to fit in their storage bins. General Manager Cody Larimore.
