Marion Police Respond to Battery Investigation

At approximately 9:30 pm, Marion Police received a 911 call from Odale Cobb stating that he needed help and that he was bleeding. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the residence of 420 West 29th St. Upon officer’s arrival on scene, Cobb was conscious and lying on the floor and bleeding. Officers observed trauma to the back of his head and applied medical aid in order to stabilize the uncontrollable bleeding wound.

Cobb was transported to Marion General via ambulance, and later transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

It was determined by medical personnel that Cobb sustained a blunt force laceration to the black of his head. Cobb is reportedly in stable, but critical condition.

Police obtained and served a search warrant on the residence in attempt to locate possible evidence.

Evans was questioned by detectives and stated, “that when she arrived at Cobb’s house she found him lying on the floor.” Evans and Cobb were very intoxicated which made it hard for police to obtain factual information.

The case is ACTIVE to the Criminal Investigations Division.
