Marion Police Department and US Marshalls Investigation Results

MARION, Ind. – On January 18, 2022, Marion Police Department and US Marshalls conducted an investigation at
the address of 1413 West Spencer Ave. Marion Indiana. The target was an arrest warrant
through Fresno California for Abel Echartea. Echartea was wanted through California for an
unrelated Murder from 2020.
Echartea was seen leaving the residence and was arrested without incident in a traffic stop just
behind the residence.
Marion Police ERT executed the arrest warrant slightly after 2pm. Once inside the residence 3
adults and a 7-year-old child were located.
During a search of the residence Detectives located the following:
Approximate Amounts:
Heroin: 40 grams
Methamphetamine: 788 grams
Cocaine: 168 grams
Pills: 126 grams
Marijuana: 3 lbs.
Arrested were:
Abel Echartea 32, Marion, Native of Fresno California (Murder)
Julia Ybarra 31, Fresno California Maintaining a Common Nuisance Level 6 Felony
Leslie Reyes 37, Fresno California Maintaining a Common Nuisance Level 6 Felony
Phillip Najera 32, Fresno California Maintaining a Common Nuisance Level 6 Felony

During this investigation Detectives learned of a 2 nd undisclosed location in Marion Indiana.
Detectives applied for a Search Warrant through Grant Superior II Court Judge Dana Kenworthy.
The warrant was approved and executed around 7:45 PM. During the search warrant Detectives
located 10 handguns. Detectives located a large amount of US Currency and Narcotics. The unit
was rented by Jessie Aispuro 29 of Fresno California living in Marion Indiana.
The Following Narcotics were located in an approximate amount:
Methamphetamine: 56.8 ounces
Pills: 62 ounces
Cocaine: 126 grams
Marijuana: 7lbs 9 ounces
This investigation led to a Search Warrant at 1408 W. 1 st . Marion where Aispuro was living.
Marion ERT executed the search warrant around 9:30 PM. Once inside the residence ERT
located Jessie Aispuro 29. The residence was searched and $1348 in US Currency was located.
Aispuro was arrested and taken to the Grant County Jail for:

Level 2 felonies
Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver
Possession of Cocaine with intent to deliver
Possession of Narcotic Drugs with intent to Deliver

A total of over $60k was seized during the investigation
