Maconaquah Eighth Grader will Travel to Washington D.C. for Regional Spelling Bee

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – Maconaquah eighth grader Anastasia Spahr will be traveling to Washington D.C. in May, following her victory Tuesday night in the North Central Indiana Regional Spelling Bee. The event, hosted by IvyTech Kokomo and Indiana University Kokomo, took place on the IUK campus. Spahr competed in the spelling bee with 21 other students from Howard, Tipton, Cass, and Fulton Counties. Spahr has been competing in spelling bees since the third grade. She won first place in the regional spelling bee in the fifth grade and came in second place the previous two years. Anastasia is the daughter of Tim and Marcet Spahr.
