Logansport Woman Arrested on Drug Charges During Traffic Stop

CASS COUNTY, IN- Yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m., a traffic stop by Indiana State Trooper Caleb Clark led to the arrest of Kimberly Binney, 50, Logansport, IN.  Binney was incarcerated in the Cass County Jail to face preliminary criminal charges for dealing methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trooper Clark initiated a traffic stop on a 1999 Ford Mustang, on U.S. 35 near Cass County Road 1150 South, for exceeding the posted speed limit. The Mustang was driven by Binney. While Clark was speaking to Binney, a Logansport Police officer and his narcotics detecting police dog arrived to assist. The police dog was walked around the Ford to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. The dog allegedly alerted to the presence of narcotics in the car.

During a subsequent search of the Mustang, officers allegedly found approximately 226 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Trooper Clark was assisted during the traffic stop by officers from the Logansport Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
