CASS COUNTY, IN- The Kokomo Police Department is investigating the death of a Galveston man who was found Thursday morning unresponsive in a vehicle at Clinton and Kentucky drives, according to a KPD press release. Yogi J. Olivarez, 45, was transported from the scene to Community Howard Regional Health, where he was pronounced dead. The call was dispatched as a gunshot wound, but an autopsy is scheduled for Friday to officially determine the cause of death. Kokomo police released the name of the victim in the press release. Officers responded to the intersection at around 6:16 a.m. Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel located the victim, and transported him to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 6:43 a.m. by medical personnel. The Howard County Coroner’s Office notified the victim’s family members. This case is in the preliminary stages of investigation by the Kokomo Police Department Criminal Investigation Section, states a KPD media release.
