Kerry David Sandberg

Kerry David Sandberg, 80, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:05 pm, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 13, 1943, in Wabash, Indiana, to George William, Jr. and Irma E. (Carlson) Sandberg.

Kerry married Peggy S. Hardin on July 14, 1967 at the Southside E.U.B Church in Wabash. He worked for United Tool in Wabash for 47 years. Kerry was a member of the National Rifle Association, Wabash American Legion Post 15, Wabash Eagles Lodge, and the Wabash Moose Lodge where he earned a Pilgrim Degree (its highest honor), and also served as past Governor. He enjoyed fishing, boating, grilling out, camping, but most importantly his family especially his two granddaughters. 

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sandberg, two children, Michele French and Jeff (Gretchen) Sandberg, two granddaughters, Cassandra French and Olivia French, all of Wabash, and sister, Penny (Paul) Bovenkerk of Cameron Park, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tim Sandberg, and two sisters, Sherri Carpenter, and Donna Stout.

Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, May 6, 2024, at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, 1100 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Nathan Whybrew officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, Indiana
