WABASH,Indiana – One of the icons of 1970s classic rock is coming to the Honeywell Center on Thursday, April 21st. Kansas is set to rock the Ford Theater stage with hits like “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust In The Wind” and “Point of No Return,” all of which are still huge staples on classic rock radio. The band is currently crisscrossing the US and Canada, playing nearly 50 shows until the end of September alone.

MiBash Radio had a chance to speak with violinist and guitarist David Ragsdale, who has played with Kansas off and on since 1991. Ragsdale said that fans should expect a faithful delivery of both the hits and the more eclectic fare at the April 21st show at the Honeywell Center. He went on to say that he’s delighted at the crowds the band has been getting on the current tour, calling them “very receptive” to the band’s music.

Ragsdale also talked about the band’s newest singer, Illinois-native Ronnie Platt. When it comes to the audience accepting Platt as lead vocalist, Ragsdale said that Kansas fans took to the new singer immediately. Ragsdale told MiBash News why it never gets old playing Kansas songs.

Ragsdale mentioned the band’s newest DVD, called Miracles Out Of Nowhere, which tells the remarkable story of six guys from America’s heartland who formed a rock band and made it to the pinnacle of stardom. As for new material, the band is releasing a new album entitled “The Prelude Implicit” later this year. “It’s remarkably Kansas,” Ragsdale explained, because it’s both very strong melodically and musically adventurous. Tickets for the show are still available. For tickets, call the Honeywell Center box office at (260) 563-1102, or visit honeywellcenter.org.
