WABASH,Indiana – The organizers of this month’s First Friday hope that it will be the biggest one of the year. And that hope is more than understandable when you look and the regional and national talent that will be walking the streets of Wabash on the evening of Friday, June 3rd. As our readers know, Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec will be in Wabash on Friday, exploring the downtown businesses and talking to the owners. The video crew from Texas-based Flow Nonfiction will also join Herjavec and Amanda Brinkman, Chief Brand and Communications Officer for the Deluxe Corporation, downtown Friday evening to document scenes for the web-based series which will mainly showcase downtown as a result of Wabash winning the Small Business Revolution on Main Street competition.

June’s First Friday will start with a celebration at the Eagles Theatre at 4:30 pm. There, Steve Downs from Wabash Marketplace will introduce Brinkman and Herjavec and Shelby McLaughlin, Project Manager at Marketplace, told MiBash News that she hopes the Eagles will once again be packed like May 12th, which was the day it was announced Wabash had won. McLaughlin said that a performance by Matt Tetter from NBC’s The Voice fame has been postponed until the end of July.

In addition to those things, she said that the Marion-based Shakespearean theatrical troop Hoosier Shakes will be performing parts of the Bard’s most famous plays starting at 7:00 pm and members of the Peru Amateur Circus will be performing at the corner of Market and Miami Streets from 5 until 8 pm. Miami Street between Market and Canal will be closed all night, McLaughlin said, because the very first Farmers Market of the year will take place on the street Saturday morning from 8 am until 12 noon. Trolley No. 85 will also be making the rounds on both Friday evening and Saturday morning.
