GRANT COUNTY, IN – Monday, June 12, 2023, Indiana State Police Detective Brent Ingram initiated an investigation, at the request of the Grant County Sheriff Del Garcia, into the death of inmate Russell D. Stalling, 46, Marion, IN.
At approximately 10:13 p.m., Grant County Detention Deputies were notified of a medical emergency. Detention Deputies located Stalling and began administering medical treatment, including CPR. First responders arrived and transported Stalling to Marion Health Hospital.
Stalling was later pronounced deceased at the hospital and notification to his family has been made.
This investigation is still ongoing, and an autopsy has been scheduled.
