Indiana State Police Hiring Civilian Positions for the Fort Wayne Regional Laboratory

 (Fort Wayne, IN) – The Indiana State Police is currently accepting applications for two civilian positions for staffing at the Fort Wayne Regional Laboratory (FWRL).  The FWRL will be hiring a Laboratory Manager, and also a Forensic Drug Chemist. Forensic Scientist EVII- Laboratory Manager (Vacancy# 2020078):Successful applicants must have a High School Diploma or possess an equivalent GED.  A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in a natural science, forensic science, or management. Three (3) years full time experience in crime scene investigation, a forensic discipline, polygraph examination, or management. General knowledge of each forensic discipline. Must have the ability to comprehend the rules of evidence. Must have the ability to manage and adhere to established laboratory safety practices.Pay starts at $70,369.00 per year. *Starting salary for this position may be adjusted for education, experience, and training.*The deadline for applications is December 1, 2020.Forensic Scientist IV- Drug Chemistry Unit (Vacancy# 2020077):This is an entry level position that will support the Laboratory Division’s Drug Analysis Unit.  Successful applicants must be a high school graduate or possess an equivalent GED.  A Bachelor’s Degree in a natural science, Chemistry, or Forensic Science. Must have completed a minimum of one semester of Physics and Analytical Chemistry/Instrumental Methods; plus one year of the following courses: General and Organic Chemistry, including lecture and associated laboratory classes. Basic knowledge of the theory and practical operation of a variety of scientific instrumentation and analytical techniques. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with both scientific and nonscientific personnel.
