Honeywell House Announces Summer Event Line Up

Opportunities include Live Music, Fine Dining, Educational Seminars

 

Wabash, Ind. – From fine dining to educational opportunities to entertaining shows, make your summer plans now with a variety of events and live music performances at the beautiful Honeywell House.

Tastes on the Terrace – Every Wednesday in June, 5-8 p.m. 

Enjoy dinner on the terrace with weekly menu updates (check Facebook for menu offerings). In case of inclement weather, indoor seating is available. Reservations are not required for Tastes on the Terrace, which is sponsored by Nancy Fisher, with additional support by Richard Tucker.  

Flappers and Fedoras! – Thursday, June 9, 7 p.m. 

Enjoy “Songs of the Roaring 20s” when Nostalgia Entertains, a professional musical duo from Chicago, returns to the Honeywell House with a fun evening, complete with costumes and music from the 1920s. 

Intense Fitness and Performance – Tuesday, July 12, 7 p.m. 

Jenna Halderman, owner and CEO of Intense Fitness and Performance, shares her passion for exercise and a healthy lifestyle in this free educational opportunity. Join us to learn how to optimize athletic performance and physical fitness through enhanced functional training. 

Mrs. Honeywell’s Birthday Tea – Thursday, July 21, 11:30 a.m. 

A “low tea” luncheon and fashion show is set in honor of Mrs. Honeywell’s birthday. The Francis Shoppe will provide the fashions, with a lunch of tea sandwiches, sweets and pastries made by the Honeywell House’s David Ericsson. Tickets: $25, includes tax and gratuity. 

Chanticleer String Quartet – Thursday, July 28, 7 p.m. 

Honeywell House favorites, the Chanticleer String Quartet, will return this summer with guest pianist William Foster McDaniel. The program will a Haydn quartet, an excerpt from the Elgar piano quintet, a jazzy piece composed by McDaniel, and a medley of Duke Ellington’s greatest hits. 

The event is sponsored by Beacon Trust Services.  

More Than Eagles – Tuesday, August 9, 7 p.m. 

Award-winning photographer Rhoda Gerig, known for her photos of eagles, will share an array of wildlife photos from her amazing collection. Gerig’s photos have been chosen for the National Geographic Daily Dozen four times and the gifted photographer has taken the top honor once. She has been published in Outdoor Indiana and has created many Garden of Eagles calendars. Among her many awards, Gerig has won multiple ribbons at Honeywell Foundation shows, including one Best of Show. 

Eugenia’s Table: Sharing Art – Thursday, August 25, 3 p.m. 

Enjoy social time and a tasty dessert around Eugenia’s Table. Please bring a favorite painting or a loved art object from your home to both display and to share the story. Limited seating available. $15 per person, includes tax and gratuity. 

Waypoint – Thursday, September 8, 7 p.m. 

You are invited to learn more about Waypoint, a safe, structured and stable environment for women recovering from substance use and abuse. Waypoint, located on Wabash Street, is an invaluable aid in helping women to regain their self-respect and see their true value to themselves and others. Marilyn Custer-Mitchell and Abby Schuler Waldon will give the presentation, sharing the history of the program and its many benefits.  

Beer in America: From Prohibition to Craft – Thursday, September 15, 7 p.m. 

Learn how beer is made and more when Scott Fergusson, founder of Chapman’s Brewing, shares the story of beer and plans for future beer-centered endeavors in Wabash.
