Honeywell Arts & Entertainment to host 2024 Summer Camps


Wabash, IN– Honeywell Arts & Entertainment will present a variety of summer camp offerings for students in grades K-12 to attend in the month of June. Registration for Summer Art Camp and Summer Theatre Camp is open through May 24. A $25 discount is offered for registration completed by April 10. Registration is available at honeywellarts.org/camp or by calling the Honeywell Box Office at 260.563.1102.
These camps are sponsored by Halderman Real Estate & Farm Management. Summer Art Camp Honeywell Summer Visual Art Camps are led by professional artists and educators and offer a fun learning experience exploring various art forms and techniques.

Grades K-1: June 3-7, June 10-14, or June 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Instructor – Danielle Winger, Nora Majors, or Taylor Legg Students will explore their creativity and the natural world in a camp that introduces basic art concepts through fun and creative projects. The
nature-inspired projects will use items found in nature and a variety of art techniques.

Grades 2-4: June 3-7 or June 10-14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Instructor – Katy Gray
Students will have exciting experiences in textile arts and metal repoussé. They will hone their existing drawing skills as they create interactive portraits and more, inspired by art history. The week’s activities will be full of engaging artistic techniques, resulting in finished projects worthy of display.

Grades 5-8: June 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Instructor – Nora Majors
Students will explore the whimsical side of art, delving into abstract and surrealist ideas and techniques. Participants will think outside the box as we paint, sculpt, draw, and build out-of-this-world masterpieces, sure to spark the imagination.

Grades 9-12: June 3-14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Instructors – Taylor Legg and Danielle Winger
Students will refine their skills and explore complex techniques in this supportive and fun camp. Projects will include sculpting and painting and will foster creativity and mastery in an engaging environment.
Summer Theatre Camp Honeywell Summer Theatre Camps provide students with multi-week experiences as they rehearse and perform a fully staged musical! All camps have the support of a team of passionate theatre, education, and artistic professionals. These summer experiences are packed full of
fun, learning, and stretching creative muscles.

Grades 1-4: GOAL! – Camp Weekdays: June 3-12 from 1-4 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Director – Kaitlyn Whinery
Students will come together for an exciting theatre journey! Young talents will rehearse and shine in the delightful production Goal! – a theatrical adventure filled with creativity, teamwork, and fun. Performance will take place on June 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the Honeywell Center.

Grades 5-8: Willy Wonka Jr. – Camp Weekdays: June 3-21 from 1-4 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Director – Lindsay Rice; Music Director – Judy Wright
Students will learn how to develop characters, work together as an ensemble, and build acting skills as they rehearse and perform a fully staged production of Dahl’s timeless story of Willy Wonka. Performances will take place on June 21 and 22 at 5:00 p.m. at the Honeywell Center. Auditions required for lead roles.

Grades 9-12: Anastasia: The New Musical – Camp Weekdays: June 3-21 from 1-4 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
Director – Jessica Keffaber; Music Director – Zach Williams
Students will spend three weeks working as a team learning music, blocking, and choreography to produce a fully staged production. With beautiful music and stunning costumes, Anastasia is a spectacular new musical about discovering who you are and defining who you’re meant to be. Performances will take place on June 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Honeywell Center. Auditions required for lead roles.
