Honeywell Arts & Entertainment hosted Acting Right – A Professional Development Workshop

WABASH, IN – Honeywell Arts & Entertainment hosted Acting Right – A Professional Development Workshop for educators at the Eagles Theatre on Tuesday, July 25. Led by Honeywell Director of Education Kristi Unger, the full-day workshop included content created by Acting Right author Sean Layne and offered educators the opportunity to learn new classroom management tools, earn professional growth plan points, and gain access to the Acting Right online curriculum to utilize in classrooms.
Acting Right is an approach using elements of acting to help students build skills like self-control, accountability, and team building. Patty Steele, a teacher at Southwood Elementary in Wabash County, states, “Acting Right teaches students what it looks like to have control of their bodies, how to focus, and how to be a better classmate through a series of age-appropriate lessons and activities.”
Honeywell Arts In Education is a collection of arts-infused, curriculum-based programs created for educators to reap developmental benefits in the classroom. Programs are offered at little or no cost to the schools, allowing all students to participate regardless of socioeconomic situation. In 2022, the Honeywell Arts In Education initiative provided 49,000 student interactions across 14 counties and 83 schools in Indiana. Programs included Visual Thinking Strategies, student art exhibits, curriculum-based theater performances, and an accredited media arts program for high school students.
