Holland Resigns From Board of Works

PERU,IN   Peru Board of Works met Monday evening, during the meeting Republican City Councilman Blane Holland resigned his position from the Board of Works. Mr. Holland was asked by Mayor Greer to serve on the Board of Works this year in January, cited time constraints as the reason for the early departure from the board. “I want to thank Mayor Greer for the opportunity to serve on this board,” Mr. Holland said in the meeting. “ I have many commitments in the community and I have to prioritize my time. I am sorry that I will no longer be able to serve on this board. Mayor Gabe Greer announced that he has appointed Steve Anderson to serve on the Board of Works in Mr. Holland’s place. Mr. Anderson will be attending the next Board of Works meeting, Monday, August 15th, and beginning to serve the community. The Board of Works also approved a street closure for Fifth Street between the Courthouse on Broadway and Wabash streets Saturday, October 1st from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on the request from Debbie Bowsher for the Miami County Bicentennial.
