Grissom Air Reserve Base brings on first full-time Historian

This from the Kokomo Tribune:

BUNKER HILL, IN – Grissom Air Reserve Base has brought on its first full-time historian who has been tasked with compiling a collective history of the military installation’s activities. Paul Marcello, a museum curator and former Air Force crew chief, was hired in December to begin conducting historical research, interviewing personnel and collecting, organizing and storing historical publications. Marcello came to Grissom after serving as museum curator at Fort Lee, Virginia, and a historian at the Naval Yard in Washington, D.C. Prior to his roles as a curator and historian, he served four years of active duty in the Air Force as a C-145 Starlifter crew chief. His career in military history began at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, where the Confederate Army surrendered to the Union Army in 1865, ending the Civil War. The site is operated by the National Park Service. At Grissom, one of Marcello’s top priorities will be publishing a yearly history pamphlet documenting the activities at the base. He said Grissom has a storied history as a former naval station and active duty base, and he’s looking forward to documenting and chronicling that history for future generations.
