Gary Andrew Swenson, 49, Indianapolis, died at 1:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on March 24, 1968, to Gary D. Swenson and Marcia (Knotts) Bertram.
Gary was a cook and dearly loved cooking for his family, friends, and the community. He took great pride in his work in food service. Gary also enjoyed listening to music, collecting comic books, watching movies, and, most of all, spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Marcia (Jerry L.) Bertram, Marion; siblings, Carole Diane Swenson and Daniel D. Swenson; aunts and uncles, Debbie (Randy) Thaman, Denise (Willie) Vaughn, Dennis (Melinda) Knotts, Carole (Fred) Wandrei, Diane Pye, and Donna (Donald) Thomas; niece, Olivia Helene Swenson; several cousins; and father, Gary D. Swenson.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Gary’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the funeral home with Chaplain Nanci Rosinski officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
