Free fishing weekend in Indiana

This from wthr.com: INDIANAPOLIS — It’s free fishing weekend in Indiana!
Hoosiers will be able to fish on public waters June 6 and 7 without a fishing license or a salmon/trout stamp.

While children 17 and younger never need a license to fish in Indiana’s public waters, adults usually do.

Because the state has entered Stage 3 of its reopening plan, which includes state parks, Hoosiers can enjoy nature and a free day of fishing while practicing social distancing.

Indiana has four free fishing days this year, two of which are this weekend. The first was in May and the last is Sept. 26.

Normally DNR accompanies the free fishing days with workshops to help kids learn to fish, but a handful of those have been canceled due to the pandemic.
