Farmers Market to require face coverings

Downtown Wabash Farmers Market announces Face Covering Requirement
Wabash, Ind. –There is a new protocol for Downtown Wabash Farmers Market. Effective
August 1, vendors and shoppers are required to wear face coverings. This change is in response
Governor Holcomb’s Executive Order stating that face coverings are required “in an outdoor
public space wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another
person not in the same household.” There are a handful of exclusions including children under 8
years old and medical conditions.

The Downtown Wabash Farmers Market is endorsed with the “Hoosier Hospitality Promise” to
take a leadership role in protecting the community. Businesses endorsed are held to the highest
level of sanitizing, monitoring staff health, and prioritizing community wellness. The program is
championed by Indiana Destination Development Corporation.

The Market occurs every Saturday through September 26 from 8 am – noon in the Honeywell
Center/Wabash Elk’s Parking Lot, corner of Cass and Market Streets. (Please note that there is
construction on Cass Street—alternate routes on Carroll and Market Streets are available.) This
year’s “Limited Market Model,” sponsored by Parkview Wabash Hospital, features vendors
selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, homemade goods, honey, and artisan wares.
Disposable face masks and hand sanitizer are available free of charge at the Information Booth.

Many things will remain the at the Market. The Farmers Market is excited to continue accepting
SNAP, WIC, and Senior Farmers’ Market vouchers. The Market is also pet-friendly and tobacco-
free. For more information, find us on Facebook and Instagram at Wabash Farmers Market.
