Division of Mental Health and Addiction awards ShipHappens, Inc. Accelerator Initiative Grant

KOKOMO, IN- ShipHappens, Inc. is thrilled to share they were recently awarded an Accelerator Initiative Planning Grant through the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA).

The Accelerator Initiative was launched by DMHA using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds designated through HEA1001. This initiative aims to support small and grassroots organizations who are providing access to resources for mental health and wellness to underserved and marginalized communities in Indiana, including people who have been historically and systemically oppressed, and people who live in under-resourced geographic areas of the state. The Accelerator Initiative is guided by the knowledge that grassroots organizations are more powerful when they are adequately resourced and creatively structured to sustain their work. Through this initiative, small organizations and their leaders will have access to resources and relationships designed to support growth in the ways they envision.

We look forward to using this grant to further our mission of getting as much naloxone into the hands of as many as possible. While we are excited to work toward realizing our organization’s vision in cooperation with DMHA, we know that our work is ultimately sustained through the resilience and strength of the people that we serve every day.

“This is the best program I have ever seen. I can’t count the number of lives u have saved. Thank you.”
Our work with Accelerator will begin in January of 2023 and continue through 2024. To learn more about our work, visit www.harm-lessindiana.org. If you would like more information about the Accelerator Initiative, visit www.acceleratorinitiative.org.
