WABASH,Indiana – The 2nd-annual Wabash County Democratic Party Jefferson-Jackson fundraiser drew three times the number of attendees as the first-annual event on June 21st of last year. And it’s no doubt because Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate John Gregg, Democratic Candidate for District 2 of the US House Lynn C. Coleman and Democratic Candidate for Indiana Attorney General Lorenzo Arredondo all attended the meeting.

MiBash News had a chance to talk to Gregg about a wide range of issues from RFRA to UTEC and Carrier leaving the state for Mexico to debating Governor Mike Pence to the First Friday event that was going on when he was in town.

Gregg said of RFRA that it has cost the Hoosier State hundreds of millions of dollars, damaged the state’s reputation and that it’s morally wrong. Gregg, who was beat by Governor Mike Pence four years ago, also said that he is looking forward to debating the Governor once again, calling him a “man of sound bites” and an “ideologue.” Gregg then noted that he was very impressed with the number of people at May’s First Friday event going on at the same time as the fundraiser.

Gregg also discussed the loss of manufacturing jobs by UTEC and Carrier moving to Mexico.

Lynn C. Coleman also spoke to those in attendance. Coleman, the former South Bend Police Officer, won nearly 65% of the Democratic ballot voters in Wabash County for District 2 of the US House.

Democratic Party Chair Chad Harris said that the Dems always have an uphill battle in Wabash County.

Many Democratic Party leaders and members came in from as far away as Marion and Kokomo to attend the event in, quite ironically, the Honeywell Center’s Nixon Room on Friday night.
