Christopher Details Changes At 2016 Wabash County 4-H Fair

WABASH,Indiana – On the next Wabash Talks, Wabash County 4-H Youth Educator Angela Christopher stops by the station to detail all the events happening at this year’s Wabash County 4-H Fair which runs from Wednesday, July 6th through Saturday, July 16th. The recognition of 10 year 4-H members will take place during the 4-H Fair Queen Pageant this year which takes place the first night of the fair on July 6th at the Honeywell Center’s Ford Theater.

Last year’s poultry ban has been lifted all over the state, so 4-H’ers can show off their prized birds at the fairgrounds starting at 11 am on Monday, July 11th. The annual dog show has been moved back toward the start of the fair on Saturday, July 9th. Also back this year is a karaoke contest on the free stage by the Show Arena on Tuesday, July 12th from 6 until 8 pm.

The swine show is undoubtedly the most attended animal event at the fair every year and it takes place on Wednesday, July 13th starting at 8 am. This year, 415 head of swine are registered compared to around 400 last year. The 4-H Achievement Awards have taken place in October or November in years past but this year they’ll take place during the fair starting at 11 am on Friday, July 15th in the Show Arena. The Parade of Champions follows directly at 12 noon. The fair will wrap up on Saturday, July 16th with a performance from Wabatucky Shooters and the annual demolition derby event at the Outdoor Arena.
