Chili for Charity Recipients Receive Money

WABASH, Ind. – Wabash Cannonball Chili for Charity is pleased to announce award amounts distributed to this year’s chili for charity chili cook-off selected beneficiaries. On November 2, at All Occasions, Chili for Charity presented award checks to representatives of the non-profits earmarked to receive funds from this year’s event. Due to a partnership with Wabash County United Fund, the event is able to leverage local dollars and increase the amount divided among nine charities serving Wabash County. The following charities were selected to receive funds from this year’s event:

Since the cook-off’s inception, over $430,000 has been reinvested into non-profit organizations serving Wabash County.

This year marked the 14th Anniversary of the event, which was held on October 15 at Paradise Spring Historical Park. The full list of 2016 board and committee members are as follows: Marc Shelley, Steve Weir, Christine Flohr, Wade Weaver, Julie Deniston, Heidi Pollard, David “Smitty” Smith, Joe Eddingfield, and Brian Campbell. Executive roles are filled by Todd Titus, president, Bob McCallen III, vice president, Nancy Bowman, treasurer, and Jessica Brown, secretary.
