Celebrations For 60th Anniversary Of Marion General Motors Stamping Facility Detailed

MARION,Indiana – Tomorrow the Marion General Motors Stamping Facility, formerly known as Fischer Body will be celebrating its 60th anniversary. To celebrate the special event the plant will open its doors to the public. At 9am the doors open for GM retirees and at 10 the doors open to the general public. During the celebration visitors will be able to tour the plant and see it in operation. Visitors must be at least five years of age and everyone will have to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. No shorts, skirts or flip-flops allowed.

There will be many events taking place inside and outside the plant. See the latest technology at work in the plant. Vintage cars from GM, Ford and Chrysler will be on display. The GM plant has been part of the Marion community since 1956. The event is free and goes until 8pm tomorrow (Friday) night. Food will be available from local vendors.
