The 13-24 Drive In officially closed for the 2016 season the last weekend of September. The significance of its closing for the season is profound because it marks the end of summer, kids are back in school, leaves are beginning to brown, and before you know it, winter will be here.

But this season proved to be one of the very best for the 13-24 Drive In, due to its record-breaking attendances. The first weekend “Finding Dory”, shown – June 16 and 17 – a total of 4,273 movie-goers attended this very popular new release movie. The second best-attended movie of the season was “The Secret Life of Pets”, which resulted with a two-night total of 3,712.

The season’s overall total number of people who attended movies at the Drive In resulted with 29,332 of which 11,074 were children. These attendance figures are the largest number of people ever to attend the Drive In while under the management of the Honeywell Foundation. An important factor that greatly contributed to these high attendance numbers is the sponsorship provided by INGUARD, which made it possible for all kids ages 12 and under to be admitted free all summer long. INGUARD sponsored 9, 123 kids total this season. Thank you INGUARD and to everyone who came to the 13-24 Drive In this season!

The 13-24 Drive In is located at 890 N. SR 13 and has been a part of Wabash’s social fabric for 64 years. In May of 2011, The Honeywell Foundation assumed operations of the historical landmark and continues to manage and operate the theater today.
