Active Meth Lab Located/Two Arrested

WABASH,IN   On July 25, 2016, at approximately 7:48 p.m. Wabash City units were summoned to the area of 1080 Rainbow Lane for a strong chemical odor. Wabash City Officers allege upon their arrival in the area they also smelled a chemical odor. Officers began to search the area and preliminarily located the origin of the smell to be 1080 Rainbow Lane apartment 6. Officers knocked on the door and a male subject answered the door and officers allege they positively located the chemical odor they associated with manufacturing of methamphetamine. Two subjects inside the apartment were detained. For precaution, the apartment building was evacuated and Wabash Fire Department was called to the scene. Wabash City Officers obtained a search warrant and entered to apartment and confirmed the location of an active meth lab. Wabash Drug Task Force and Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Disposal Team dismantled and removed the lab. Steven M. Green, 26, Wabash, was preliminarily arrested for: Visiting a Common Nuisance, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic needle, and Possession of Precursors. Julian D. Stouffer, 29, Wabash, was preliminarily arrested for: Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, and Possession of Precursors, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both subjects were taken to Wabash County Jail. At approximately 10:51 p.m. all tenants were allowed to reenter their apartments. This incident was investigated by Wabash City Police 2nd shift assisted by Wabash Drug Task Force, Wabash County Sheriff’s department, Indiana State Police and Wabash City Fire. Wabash Police thank alert citizens for this tip and urge others to be vigilant of criminal activity in their neighborhood.
