32 Organizations Awarded $92,500 in Fall Grant Cycle

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. – The Community Foundation of Wabash County distributed $92,500 in its 2018 fall grant cycle, supporting local nonprofits that meet the urgent needs of county citizens or provide opportunities for people with minimal resources. Thirty-five organizations were awarded grants for projects in education, the arts, food insecurity, support for youth, and more.

  • Arc of Wabash County – New Technology for Employment Services for Disabled Adults
  • Blessings in a Backpack (North Manchester) – Supplemental Food for 400 Children Weekly
  • Education for Conflict Resolution – Attendance/Truancy Mediation for Wabash County School Students, Families, and School Personnel
  • Family Services Society – Wabash County Hands of Hope Victim Outreach for Domestic Violence Victims
  • Grow Wabash County – Leadership Training Program
  • Habitat for Humanity of Wabash County – Indiana Habitat for Humanity Annual Conference
  • Honeywell Foundation – Educational Outreach Program Arts Integration to Teach Language Arts Through Use of Different Art Medias
  • Kids First Child Care Ministry – Required Curriculum Necessary to Obtain a Level 3 Paths to Quality Rating.
  • Living Well in Wabash County CoA – Community Cupboard food pantry and Senior Supplemental Food Box program
  • Manchester Community Child Care Association – Manchester Early Learning Center Staff Development; 2019 IAEYC Conference
  • MCS – Manchester Jr/Sr High School – Art Supplies
  • North Manchester Civic Symphony Society – Free Ukulele Group Lessons
  • Tippecanoe Audubon Society – Addressing and Managing Invasive Species in the Flory-Gemmer Marsh
  • Wabash County Early Childhood Education Coalition – CLASS Assessment Training for Early Childhood Education Programs
  • Wabash County Lighthouse Missions – New Facility to Better Serve the Wabash Community
  • Wabash County Probation Department – Implementation of a Mentor Program to Increase Family Engagement and Program Understanding
  • Wabash County Soil and Water Conservation District – Fish Ladder Monitoring to Protect and Restore Fish Habitat at the Stockdale Dam
  • Wabash County Tobacco Free Coalition – Wabash County Baby and Me Tobacco Free Program, Which Provides Smoking Cessation Help for Pregnant Women
  • Wabash Presbyterian Church (The Presbyterian School) – Enrichment Curriculum for Early Learning
  • Wabash Street Level Ministries (The Access) – Family Nights and the Weekend Partnership Programming
  • Wabash Woman’s Club House Association – STAR – Start Talking About Reading – for Local School Children
  • WCS – OJ Neighbours Elementary School – Free Snacks for 3rd and 4th Grade Students and Reusable Water Bottles for all Students
  • WCS – Wabash High School – Wabash County College and Career Fair
  • White’s Residential & Family Services’ Offering Wabash Families Life-Altering Change Program to allow Children in Foster Care to Experience Summer Camps, Band Camps, and Musical/Athletic/Arts Instruction  
  • Youth for Christ of Northern Indiana – Wabash Campus Life Programs in Manchester, Northfield, Southwood, and Wabash High Schools and Wabash Middle School
  • Youth Service Bureau of Huntington County – Safe Place Program, Providing Crisis Intervention and Resources
  • Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – Equipment and Renovations to Accommodate Daniel’s Place, an Upcoming Respite Care Facility for Adults with Special Needs
The Good Deeds grant program was established in 1993 to ensure that unrestricted grant money would be available to the Wabash community to support nonprofits and fund initiatives and programs aimed at advancing educational attainment and supporting citizens with critical needs. To date, more than $4.5 million has been distributed from the Good Deeds Endowment. Grants are awarded twice a year – April 15 and October 15.
