(Whitley County, IN)-A 44 year old Whitley County man was arrested on felony charges yesterday afternoon following an almost four month long investigation into various crimes against children allegations.

An undercover investigation into peer-to-peer file sharing conducted by the Indiana State Police uncovered a large cache of child pornography yesterday during the execution of a search warrant at the man’s rural Columbia City residence.

Forensic investigators were able to identify more than 150 images and more than two dozen videos of alleged child pornography on multiple electronic devices. The investigation was initiated in late March of this year as a result of multiple tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Investigators arrested 44 year old Christopher Aaron Davidsen without incident and he has been preliminarily charged by the Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office with the following:

  • One count of Child Exploitation, Level 5 Felony
  • One count of Possession of Child Pornography, Level 6 Felony

Investigators credit the collaborative effort of all of the assisting agencies involved which included the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Whitley County Sheriff Department, the Whitley County Prosecutor’s Office and the Division of Child Services, in this complex and highly technical criminal investigation.

The public is encouraged to report information regarding possible child exploitation to their local law enforcement agency or to the nearest State Police Post.  Information can also be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Cyber Tipline http://www.missingkids.com/CyberTipline or by calling them toll free at (800) 843-5678.

All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law.
