WABASH, IN- Visit Wabash County announces Wabash Run The River half marathon and Dam to Dam registration flash sale starting March 6. Save money by registering now for both or either of these events and kick-start your training.
The March Blitz registration flash sale will run from March 6 to March 17 and offers a savings of $5 on both Outdoor Adventure Series events – Wabash Run The River race and Dam to Dam Bike Ride. Back for the second year, Wabash Run The River will be held on Saturday, June 10th. Thanks to Chittick Insurance’s generous sponsorship, additional cash prizes are now being offered to the top three male and female finishers for the half marathon, 10K, and 5K.
Wabash Run The River starts and ends in front of the Welcome Center on Miami Street and will lead racers through downtown and onto the scenic Wabash River Trail. From competitive athletes to leisure runners and walkers, this event is open to all ages and running levels. In conjunction with the race, the public is invited to cheer runners on during the free Block Party returning to Miami Street.
Back for its 14th year, Dam to Dam Bike Ride will take place on Sunday, September 10, starting and ending at the Wabash County YMCA. Cyclists can choose between route lengths that include 15, 30, 50, 62 (Metric Century), 80, 100 (Century), and 150 miles. The 62 miles or longer routes showcase both the Mississinewa Dam and Salamonie Dam located in Wabash County, which is where the event name stems. This event attracts riders from all over the country. Last year, Dam to Dam welcomed nearly 800 riders from 11 states.
“These two events are examples of bringing people together and showcasing our iconic landmarks, history, and community,” said Stephanie Rogers, visitor experiences manager for Visit Wabash County, and event director. “The March Blitz registration flash sale is designed to get people pumped about these events early and start training now.”
Wabash Run The River, sponsored by Chittick Insurance, and The Dam to Dam Wabash County Century Ride, powered by INGUARD, are programs of Visit Wabash County. Dam to Dam is organized by a group of volunteers dedicated to the advancement of trails and greenways throughout Wabash County. Members of the 2023 Dam to Dam Committee are Greg Garner, Shelly Baucco, John Trimble, Dave Mann, Mike Paul, Amy Ford, Roger Peebles, Adam Stakeman, Christine Flohr, and Stephanie Rogers, event director.
