Wabash Marketplace Receives Gift

WABASH, Ind. – “This is a remarkable act of generosity,” proclaimed Wabash Marketplace

president Dylan Reynolds, in announcing a large gift from Wabash resident Sandy

Kunkel. “Surprises like this validate all of our efforts on behalf of our Downtown. Sandy

obviously likes what she sees when she looks at Wabash Marketplace, and we are most

gratified by her support and confidence.”

“My affinity for downtown and my delight at seeing its recent resurgence is what prompted me

to act,” noted Sandy. “Many years ago, my father operated a business in Downtown, and I have

extremely fond memories from that time. I am so pleased to see our Downtown coming to life

once again. I think this transformation reflects well on our entire community, and my late

husband Dave would be proud of the work of Wabash Marketplace as a past board member.”

“The gift comes with no strings attached,” said project coordinator Andrea Zwiebel, “so our job

is to honor the spirit in which the gift was given. We could not be more pleased.”

Wabash Marketplace is a non-profit organization dedicated to downtown revitalization. Established in 1981, they are a state and national Main Street entity. Most people recognize Wabash Marketplace as the organizers of First Friday, Farmers’ Market, and Downtown Holiday

Night to Remember. Besides event planning, they also encourage downtown redevelopment with facade grants, business support, and membership activities.

If you would like to support Wabash Marketplace, tax-deductible contributions can be made online at www.wabashmarketplace.org or call the office at (260)563-0975. Wabash Marketplace also accepts annual memberships to continue the revitalization of downtown, starting at $100.
