Wabash High School named Family Friendly School by IDOE

Wabash High School is honored to announce that it has been recognized as a 2022-2023 Family Friendly School by the Indiana Department of Education and given the designation of “Excelling”. Being recognized in such a manner identifies the school as demonstrating excellence in engaging families in their children’s education.

Educating students is a group effort that involves all parents, guardians, school staff, community members and even the students themselves. At the core of all of this are the families. Through this process, Wabash High School has worked hard to evaluate their programs and has engaged a variety of community stakeholders to ensure its students receive all the support they need to be successful at school, at home, in the community, and in whatever future endeavors they may strive to achieve.

Started in 2015, the Family Friendly Schools designation focuses on addressing the academic, physical, emotional, and social needs of students, while providing the needed resources and fostering the active involvement of their families through the school and community. The program recognizes and honors schools that welcome all families into the school community, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power, and collaborate with the community.

We would like to thank all the parents, guardians, students, staff, and community members that helped to make this happen. For more information, please contact the Wabash High School front office at 260-563-4131. #LegacyBuilding #TheApacheWay #WeAreWabash
