“I have always had a deep appreciation for aviation and often take my daughter to the Wabash Municipal Airport to use the playground and watch the planes come and go,” said Stephanie Rogers, visitor experiences manager for Visit Wabash County. “I was pleasantly surprised how busy the airport is with traffic from our local pilots and visitors.”

Enjoy donuts from Mike & Roxy’s and coffee from Modoc’s Market.  Then board Trolley No.85 as Dick Beamer, retired Air Force B52 Navigator and teacher, highlights two of the 10 former airports that once were prevalent in our county, and a few of his own personal aviation experiences.

“Dick Beamer is a well known pilot in Wabash County and has a wealth of knowledge about aviation history Wabash County.  I am honored that he has agreed to be the step-on guide for this tour,” said Rogers.

Trolley No.85 will visit the Wabash Municipal Airport where guests will explore a few of the hangars and learn about local aircrafts and their pilots.  They will also meet the Lutheran Air Staff and get an up close look at the Lutheran helicopter as well as meet Airport Manager, Jonathan Derby.  Before returning to the Welcome Center, tour goers will step onto the tarmac and participate in a live drop test.  Trolley riders will signal a pilot to land a package on a designated target.
