Visit Wabash County announces poetry contest winner

WABASH, IN - Visit Wabash County is pleased to announce the winner of the 2024 Destination Guide Poetry Contest winner. The poem was submitted by Wabash County resident, Susie Jones with her submission of the poem entitled “Welcome to Wabash County.”

Taking the lead on the poetry contest was Hayley Renbarger, marketing strategist for Visit Wabash County. “There are many ways Visit Wabash County regularly shares about the uniqueness of our community, but why not open it up to the people who live here, said Renbarger. “The results were phenomenal and I’ve loved celebrating the beauty of poetry on behalf of Wabash.”

Susie Jones, a cherished resident of Wabash County, has become a beacon of inspiration for her community through her unwavering love for poetry and the arts. With a passion that radiates from her every word, Susie has dedicated herself to sharing the transformative power of poetry, creating a space where creativity flourishes.

“It’s been delightful witnessing the creativeness in our community soar! I’m excited to see how the poetry contest will expand in the future,” said Renbarger.

The Destination Guide was designed in-house by Christine Flohr, executive director of tourism at Visit Wabash County, and Biz Bishop, content manager, and the layout was done by Eric Schoening at Vertical Communications.

Each year, the Visit Wabash County marketing team concentrates on the content to be featured each year in the guide, however, the entire Visit Wabash County staff assists with contributing ideas. The 2024 Destination Guide will be released and distributed in January.
