Visit Wabash County announces LaFontaine Home Tour

WABASH, IN – Visit Wabash County officials announce the release of a brand new tour. Tickets for the LaFontaine Home Tour will go on sale online and in person on May 16 at noon.

The LaFontaine Home Tour will take place on Saturday, June 17 from 8:30 AM to 12 PM and the cost is $30 per ticket. The trolley will pick up and drop off in downtown Wabash at the Welcome Center.
Hop on board Trolley No.85 and explore the rich history of LaFontaine, IN. Tour some of the oldest-built homes that date back to the 1880s. The tour is a rare opportunity to walk through four unique properties, hear the history of each location, and learn about the architectural features that are still visible today.
“The LaFontaine community boasts properties that date back to the late 1800s,” said Jennifer Long-Dillon, tourism manager for Visit Wabash County. “I am thrilled to give people the opportunity to experience these four historic properties.”

Stops along the tour include the historic William’s Home, Parker Home, the 1880s Parker Store, and the renovated Adam’s Homestead. The tour includes a guided tour, refreshments from Modoc’s Market, and made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls from Bailey’s Pizza Parlor.
“Showcasing communities like LaFontaine is a natural way to tell a piece of Wabash County’s history while connecting trolley riders to the town,” said Long-Dillon. “Terrell Realty recognizes the importance of preserving and telling a community’s story and we are thankful for their sponsorship.”

Trolley No.85 tour programs are supported by the City of Wabash, J.M. Reynolds Oil Company, and other local partners. For more information about this tour or for the full 2023 Trolley Tour lineup, go to VisitWabashCounty.com/trolley-tours.
