Update to Marion Armed Robbery

UPDATE: Thomas L. Pace, age 27 of Marion has been arrested for Robbery while Armed with a Deadly Weapon (Level 3 Felony). Detectives received a tip that Pace had committed the robbery at Save-On Liquor. Pace was located at a local bar at which time he denied involvement in the robbery. Detectives obtained a search warrant and searched Pace’s residence. The clothing worn during the robbery was located in Pace’s residence. Pace’s Bond is set at $30,005.00

On November 12, 2019 approximately 9:06 pm, Marion Police responded to Save-On Liquor Store, located at 3754 So. Western Avenue for an armed robbery.

Teresa Picco (store clerk) reported that a Caucasian male entered the store wearing a mask and hoody that partly covered his face. Picco reported that she told the suspect to remove the mask and the hood from his face. The male told her no, at which time he then displayed a butcher knife and told her it was a stick up. Picco reported that the suspect told her he was serious, and demanded she open the cash register or he was going to stick her with the knife. Complying with the suspects demands, the suspect then reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of currency from the register. Picco reported that the suspect fled from the store in an unknown direction. Picco then called 9-1-1.

Suspect Description: Caucasian/Male, age: 20’s, approximately 5’9 in height, between 170-200 lbs. (stocky build), wearing a grey sweatshirt with the hood up, and dark grey sweatpants, and a mask.
