UPDATE: On February 17, 2020 at approximately 5:15 am, Odale Cobb was pronounced dead by Lutheran Hospital medical personnel in Fort Wayne. An autopsy was ordered and performed at the Northeast Indiana
Forensic Center. Upon completion of the autopsy Cobbs’ death was due to a Laceration of the Scalp (Cerebral
Contusion), and the manner of death is ruled “accidental.” Cobb’s intoxication contributed to his falling and
striking the back of his head against an object in his home.
On February 15, 2020, at approximately 3:16 pm, Marion Police responded to 420 West 29th St. to conduct a
welfare check on the individuals that reside in the home. Officers made contact with Rochelle Evans, age 40
and Odale Cobb, age 38. The two stated that they had been in argument, but were fine. Officers noticed blood
on the floor of the residence at which time Evans advised, that Cobb had fallen. Both individuals were
intoxicated and were not cooperative with officers.
At approximately 9:30 pm, Marion Police received a 911 call from Odale Cobb stating that he needed help and that he was bleeding. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the residence of 420 West 29th St. Upon officer’s arrival on scene, Cobb was conscious and lying on the floor and bleeding. Officers observed trauma to the back of his head and applied medical aid in order to stabilize the uncontrollable bleeding wound.
Cobb was transported to Marion General via ambulance, and later transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

Cobb is reportedly in stable, but critical condition. Police obtained and served a search warrant on the residence
