United Way of Miami County falls short of Fundraising Goal

MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The United Way of Miami County fell short of its $190,000 fundraising goal this year by $22,702, having generated pledges totaling $167,298, the agency’s board of directors announced last Friday. United Way Executive Director Debi Wallick said the shortfall was not unexpected and knew going into the campaign there were other fundraisers that would impact their goal this year. Board President Kenneth Hanson would like to thank those who donated to the campaign, whether for the first time or as a committed donor. These donations make a huge difference to address local community needs. To make funding decisions, Community Investment volunteers and United Way staff will review their programs and their budgets, and then make recommendations to the board. Despite only reaching 88.1 percent of the campaign goal, Wallick and the United Way board aims to remain optimistic. United Way staff, board and volunteers remain committed to rallying the community for the 2019 campaign in order to restore and increase funding for programs.
