HUNTINGTON,Indiana — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that U.S. 224 is scheduled to be resurfaced Friday, April 1, weather permitting. The resurface work will take place through the City of Huntington, from U.S. 24 to the south junction of S.R. 5/South Broadway Street.
During the day, drivers should watch for stopped traffic and flaggers in the construction zone. Part of this project includes the update of curb ramps in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. One corner of each intersection will be constructed at a time. The project is expected to be completed in July.
INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
The project was awarded to E&B Paving for $1.3 million.
