Two Wabash Residents Arrested After Traffic Stop Last Thursday

WABASH,Indiana – On February 25, 2016, at approximately 6:51 a.m. Officer Sam Hipskind stopped a vehicle near Huntington and Fulton Streets for an alleged traffic violation. Officer Hipskind alleges that male and female switched positions in the vehicle as the vehicle stopped. During the brief traffic stop Detective Krhin was speaking with the female at the passenger side of the car. Detective Krhin asked the female to step from the car. Detective Krhin stated that just as he reached in the car to unlock the door, the window was rolled up, and the vehicle drove away. Detective Krhin’s arm was caught in the window and the vehicle continued forward in motion. Detective Krhin broke the passenger side window with his flashlight and the car stopped. The occupants in the car were identified as Brandon M. Hileman, 29, Wabash, and Heather R. Hileman, 30, Wabash. During this investigation a suspect substance was located and preliminarily identified as methamphetamine. Brandon Hileman was preliminarily arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement and Battery on a police officer. Heather Hileman was arrested for possession of controlled substance and Driving While Suspended. Both were taken to Wabash County Jail. Detective Krhin was not treated for his injuries.
