HUNTINGTON, Ind. – On Saturday March 9, 2019 officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Gangs & Violent Crime Unit were able to locate Joseph Anthony Mills Jr. he was taken into custody on an unrelated outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Huntington Police Department Annex for questioning in reference to Fridays shooting. Upon the completion of the interview Mills was transported to the Huntington County Jail and charged as follows:
Carrying a Handgun without a License Level 5 Felony
Criminal Recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon Level 6 Felony
Possession of Methamphetamine Level 6 Felony
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back, was treated at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne, and has since been released.
