Preserving Your Family History Exhibit at Ford Home

 

WABASH, Ind. The Dr. James Ford Historic Home will feature a presentation entitled “Preserving Your Family History” on Wed. March 14, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Wabash County Historical Society.

Tamera Hemmerlein, Director of Local History Services at the Indiana Historical Museum, will share simple techniques for preserving documents and photographs. Admission to this presentation is $4 per person; free admission to members of the Dr. James Ford Historic Home.

The Dr. James Ford Historic Home, a restored 19th Century physician’s home and surgery center invites visitors to experience the daily lives, personalities, and activities of the Dr. James Ford family in the years before, during and just after the Civil War. Period decor and furnishings provide a look at what life may have been like in the mid-1800s. The home includes a Victorian-era flower garden, vegetable and medicinal herb gardens, and the stone barn where Dr. Ford’s faithful steed, Barney, is located.
