MIAMI COUNTY, IN- Ole Olsen Memorial Theater will be presenting a Director’s Workshop at the Peru Depot on Friday, January 11th from 6:30-8:00 pm. The Workshop is open to the public for ages 13 and older. The workshop is intended for members over 21 who have an interest in submitting a show for next season. Ole Olsen requires all potential directors to have served as assistant directors prior to submitting. Those 18-21 must serve as a Jr. Director and an Assistant Director. If you don’t plan to submit next season but have an interest in directing in the future, the workshop is designed to answer questions & help you make that decision. Anyone under 18 who attends will receive valuable information about the ins and outs of being part of a directorial team. The workshop covers the topics of qualifications, show selection and submission, putting together a crew, working with board members on tickets and hospitality, putting together a publicity plan with the publicity director, casting, building characters and care of the depot while the show is rehearsing and performing. The workshop is free to paid members and just $5 for all others. All participants will receive a copy of the Director’s Manual for future reference.
