WARSAW, Ind. – A North Manchester man was arrested after threatening an officer while high on heroin.

Kyle Colby Thompson, 30, 4801 East CR 1500N, North Manchester, is being charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.

On June 16, an officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at a Marathon Gas Station. Upon arrival, the officer opened the car door and was able to wake up the subject and identify him as Thompson. When asked why he was sleeping at the gas station, Thompson stated he had just had “half a brown.” Thompson further advised that “half a brown” meant heroin.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Thompson stated he just wanted to sleep and reclined the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He then told the officer, “I will knock you the f**K out,” and that he just wanted to be left alone. The officer instructed him to remain in the vehicle but Thompson refused to listen and exited the vehicle.

Medics then arrived on scene to treat Thompson. He was aggressive towards the medics and refused to answer any of their questions. Due to the resistance, medical treatment was not given on scene.

Thompson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail and later released on his own recognizance.
