Mr. Honeywell’s Special Gifts

           

WABASH, Ind. – Celebrate a new children’s book about Mark Honeywell, entitled “Mr. Honeywell’s Special Gifts” during a presentation at the Honeywell House on Tues., Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Meet the authors, learn about Mr. Honeywell, and listen to those who have memories of the special gifts he gave to our community.

The presentation will feature a reading of the book by the Reader’s Theater, with the talents of Coleson Kugler as Jacob and Rick Fisher as Mr. Honeywell. Pictures from the book will be projected on screen by Eric Schoening.  

The book includes stories recalled by locals who knew Mr. Honeywell, that include his Florida home in Boca Chita, his studio that became the Wabash Country Club, the rose gardens, the scout cabin and the golf course.

Other gifts that Mr. Honeywell provided to the community include the Honeywell Center’s skating rink, the teen canteen, basketball in the gym (now Legacy Hall), and many programs, activities and events.
